Common diagnostic screenings recommended during wellness visits
A physical exam tells us a great deal about your pet's health, but some conditions develop quietly beneath the surface. Routine diagnostic screening helps identify changes before they become visible through symptoms, allowing for earlier treatment and better long-term outcomes.
Not every pet needs the same tests. Recommendations depend on age, breed, medical history, lifestyle, and any findings during the exam.
- Bloodwork: Wellness bloodwork can help detect conditions such as kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, anemia, and hormonal disorders before your pet appears sick.
- Urinalysis: A urine test provides valuable information about kidney health, hydration status, urinary tract infections, and other metabolic conditions.

Puppy and Kitten Exams
New puppies and kittens typically need a series of visits every three to four weeks until around 16 weeks of age. These visits cover vaccinations, parasite screening, nutrition, growth tracking, and conversations about training, socialization, and spay or neuter timing.
